It's a flying drone with four rotors. You use the built-in app to fly it, from any smartphone or computer. The quadcopter is specifically made for hacking and learning about drones, technology and coding, and has great technology and design on-board. As you build it yourself and is open-source, it's cheaper than comparable drones on the market.
Every piece of the hull is 3d-printed, making spare parts easy to find, and modifications a breeze. This makes PiCopter perfect for individualised projects and designs, allows the builder and hacker to go beyond the scope and order spare parts from their local 3d-printer.
We started off using the Raspberry Pi as our flight controller, and it's now a part of our fabric. Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer with great capacity. PiCopter normally comes with the Raspberry Pi included, and supports the Zero model, model A+ and B
On-board you'll find a great tiny camera. This allows PiCopter to stream live video to your phone or virtual reality glasses. It Also takes great selfies, shots and video from angles from a new perspective!
